The 26th Missouri Infantry (Union) 

Composed largely of men from mid-Missouri and saw much action under John Pope, William Rosecrans, U.S. Grant and William Sherman.  Their service lasted up until the end of the war, and probably contained as much combat as any other Union Missouri regiment.
