On fame's eternal camping-ground
Their silent tents are spread
And glory guards with solemn round

Those of us who followed the stars and bars and the stars and stripes, and have since reached the summit in life's journey, are now descending the western slope. Soon "taps" will have sounded for us too, and the "rear-guard" will have "crossed over the river to rest under the shade of the trees."
