    Summary of Our Last Meeting:

  • Roger Baker presided over the meeting. .

  • Andy Papen presented one of his typically fine programs, entitled, "...Harper's Ferry has gone up!". The subject matter of his presentation dealt with the capture of the strategically located town of Harper's Ferry, Virginia and it's federal arsenal. 

    • Stonewall Jackson brought overwhelming force to take Harper's Ferry and seized the best defensible high ground positions surrounding the town. Once Jackson had his troops in place, it was a near certainty that the town would "go up." The federals also suffered from inferior leadership and thus made a poor defensive show. Thanks, Andy, for a very informative presentation.
